Detox Diet and Pre-Conception

My Pre-Conception Journey

In my journey to have a baby, i learn something new every day whether it be about my own body or about other ways you can increase your chances of falling pregnant.  It is becoming a lot clearer to me everyday the importance of pre-conception, preparing  your body naturally for a healthy pending pregnancy.

With the guidance of a qualified herbalist i am currently undergoing a Detox Diet which combines herbs, vitamins supplements and a Healthy Diet ,eating organic and preservative free foods as much as possible. I have also tried hard to cut out caffeine replacing my hot drinks with Green Tea, Lemon Tea and keeping coffee as a very occasional treat. A Detox Diet normally includes a total body cleanse of the liver, colon, kidney’s and detoxing the digestive system .

It is a good idea to Detox a few months before you start trying to conceive because of the free toxins running around in your body, they may be harmful to a growing embryo.  It is important the Detox Diet program is embraced by both parties it is a joint responsibility to make sure both people are as healthy as possible and to support each other emotionally at a very difficult time. I have found that talking to people in the same boat is very supportive, plus you learn about other peoples experiences that can maybe help, everyone has their own personal storey and experiences. There are different support networks available fertility clinic’s or a natural support fertility group which i am currently involved in which gives you informative information about natural methods of fertility and the right fertility foods to eat.

By detoxing and eating the right foods, not only are you preparing your body for pregnancy you are reeping the health benefits of nutritional foods, vitamins and herbs which give you more energy, help your digestive system and free your body from harmful toxins. My partner and i are currently into week two of our Detox Diet and already i can feel the benefits, such as more energy , much better digestion, and i can really feel my body starting to get rid of bad toxins.

I will be updating my posts on a regular basis to keep you up to date on our progress, but just wanted to emphasis that we are both currently under the care of our fantastic herbalist who has prepared our pre-conception program and is monitoring our progress constantly.

Healthy Diet & Weight Loss Exercise

I have found that a Healthy Diet alone is not enough to achieve our ideal body image or weight. Along with nutritional foods like fruit and vegetables which are full of all the right Vitamins Minerals and a balanced diet , it is important to include at least 30 minutes of  Weight Loss Exercise 3 to 4 times a week.  This needs to be quite vigorous exercise, for example power walking, running, bike riding or maybe a group fitness class if you have decided to join a Health Club.

If you don’t like running, try and break your run into small intervals, run for 5 minutes, walk for 5 minutes, my dog Brandi loves this as she is nearly 10( in dog years) so she appreciates the break as well, then try and gradually increase your running intervals. A weight Loss Plan should be a balance between a good diet and exercise to get the maximum results.

It is important to keep Weight Loss Exercise fun so it does not become a chore, a great tip is to exercise with a friend or partner it helps keep you motivated and you can solve the problems of the world at the same time.  Some other great Weight Loss Tips are  to exercise using your ipod, music is one of the greatest motivators of all, just be careful not to sing along out loud you may find people are looking at you strangely. Exercising in the morning not only has health benefits but is a great way to start the day, you feel energized and invigorated for the rest of the day.

So by incorporating  exercise into your daily schedule you will see Weight Loss results quicker plus it will help take your mind off that coffee and cake  that was once part of your regular routine.

Check out the funny video below, thought it was a classic.

30 day Challenge for Weight Loss.

It seems more and more people are struggling with their body size & weight these days, as today’s lifestyle seems to promote a combination of processed foods & lack of exercise. People being constantly bombarded with these Wizz Bang exercise equipment or some kind of complex Weight Loss Plans to solve all their problems.

In life sometimes the best result can be obtained by keeping things Simple. After all the simpler you keep the easier it will be for you to follow and maintain. Losing weight is not so much about a quick fix but a lifestyle change. If you stick to the basics of a Healthy Diet and regular exercise it is easiest to maintain.

I have some Weight  Loss Tips for people who are struggling with implementing lifestyle changes but have trouble sticking to them.

I call it my “30 day challenge” and this is how it works:

1. Sit down with a Pen and Paper and write down what you will commit on a weekly basis over the next 30 day period.

a)Write down your habits that prevent you from losing weight

b) Write down your good habits that I will replace them with Help lose weight. (eg. it may be certain foods you will replace with whole healthier foods, or even rather than sitting up late watching T.V. go to bed earlier to wake earlier so you have time to start your day off with exercise.)

2. Then I write down a certain amount of hours to commit to exercise. Say 1.5-hours a week, which could be 3 x 1/2 hour exercise periods. It is important to setup a pattern of keeping to your commitment, so by nominating say 1.5 hours a week it doesn’t matter if miss a day it is flexible enough so can make it up during the week.

3. Then if you commit to that weekly routine for up to 30 day it is a great start to making it part of your new lifestyle.

4. After you complete one month, commit to another 30 days worth, until it becomes natural in your new lifestyle.

Losing weight or maintaining the body you desire is as much a battle with your mind as it is with your body.

Once you realise that your half way there.

Preparing for a Pregnancy with a Healthy Diet

Trying to conceive?

Since i have started on this personal journey, i have discovered the extreme importance of a Healthy Diet . Nutritional Foods are  full of the Vitamins Minerals that our bodies need to give us  the best chance of having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

If you are currently on a Low Fat Diet, no carbs diet, detoxing etc it is a good idea to seek the expert advice of a Nutritionist . Try to stay away from any Fad Diets as these diets are only a quick fix and lack the variety of  foods necessary for a balanced diet. I came across an interesting video while searching for information on the web and i would like to share it with you.

Benefits of Vitamins while trying to Conceive

I wanted to share my personal experience with all women that are trying to conceive, and have not yet achieved their goal.Although the medical field can help to a certain point, it is important to get your body healthy on the inside which can vastly improve your chances of conceiving.

I learn’t through my own experiences  it is very important to take your own health into your own hands.  Even though our bodies may look healthy on the outside, we may be lacking several essential Vitamins Minerals which our bodies need to maintain a balanced Healthy Diet.  It is very important to get our bodies as Healthy as possible when trying to conceive to give us the best chance.

It is important to include in your Diet Vitamins Supplements when trying to concieve, i would recommend seeking the expert advise of a qualified Nutritionist/Herbalist. I have personally changed my own Diet to include  more whole foods and foods which will give me Vitamins such as Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D , Vitamin E  & Folate.

Vitamins not only have Health Benefits for you and your partner  but are also vital for a successful pregnancy and a Healthy baby.  There is loads of information on the Web, and i suggest you check out this web-site on Nutrition.
